The "Dashing Pirate" overcoat and pants were originally owned by a sea captain who was lured to the pirate ways by the treasures to be plundered and the excitement to be had in the pirate life. He made sure to buy the finest blood red brocade overcoat and had it accented with gold braided cording.
The high quality white cotton shirt with a gathered collar was topped with a gold brocade vest to show wealth. Black linen pants were chosen and specially tailored to keep a pirate comfortable on the open seas.
