Saja is definitely the most unique island in THERE so it's not a surprise that one of the challenges would be to do a themed outfit for this place.
I spent quite a bit of time over there to check out the place in detail for ideas and at the same time try to figure out what the original designers had in mind for what the people might look like or wear.
I noticed some billboard signs indicating 'gardens' and it made me think about who would be managing the gardens. So, my outfit is designed to be a Saja Gardener.
The colors of the outfit are similar to Saja colors. You have burnt orange, olive green, and cream colors that make up the outfit. The front top is designed to show a 'flower pod' symbolizing the pods that grow in the gardens. I designed two symbols on the shirt that resemble two I found on a bench at one of the gardens. The emblems appear to signify the floating islands and I thought that was a great way of bringing the outfit to Saja. I also noticed a lot of swirling type
patterns in Saja on the billboards, interior rugs, and on the buildings and included something circular in design as well on the outfit. On the pants, you see growing vines coming up the pant legs. I thought this would give meaning to the vines that hold the flower pods up and the areas underneath the floating island.
This was definitely the toughest competition of all and hopefully, I caught the essence of the idea and theme of Saja.
