Disky

This week was a hard one. I was ecstatic to discover that I had won the previous challenge, at the same time I was devastated! A jacket? I did one already and of course made it the best I could. But the rules stated it had to be new and original, that meant I couldn't use any of my design over from the 1950's competition. I had to reinvent the wheel, every brush stroke had to be different.

First there was the gold medal. I wanted something special that said THERE, so I thought it should commemorate Aral's new look by c5studio in this year’s medallions. I spent Friday on the design for the gold medal.

The shirt under the jacket would be team specific, if the red team won their color would be on the shirt, if the blue team won there’s would, and so on. The team name would be on the jacket as well as There Games, and the There logo. I placed the medallion on the back and around the neck to hang on the shirt under the jacket.

Saturday I spent all day making the male jacket - white body red sleeves and blue cuffs. It looked good in the previewer, and yet in world it wasn't working at all. After hours spent, I scrapped it, I was in tears. A day and a half down and I had no jacket. I switched placements, the jacket would be blue with red sleeves and white and red cuff edges. Saturday into Sunday saw me glued to the computer from sunrise to sunset. Sunday blurred into Monday with no sleep. I put the medallion on the back so you could see what the gold metal looked like, I wasn't happy, but I was sure it was good enough to keep me in the competition. Submitted it just in time then stumbled to the bed.

When I woke I checked my email and learned that the deadline was extended!!! Whee!! I went straight back to work, now I had the time I lost to really make the jacket pop. I changed the sleeves to white with a red stripe, the black lettering to white lettering. I worked non stop, Tuesday blurred to Wednesday and it was finished. Now I just might win. Happy voting.
