Home of the Week: January 19

On a recent Saturday night, _Emma and her friends were flying over western Comet, when one of them suggested landing nearby.  _Emma could make out a tiny island below that, at first glance, appeared to be empty.

The group set down on land, which turned out not to be empty at all.  As _Emma looked around, she was delighted to see lush tropical plants, flowers, gardens, and a beautiful home.  This was Angel Island, the home of avatar angelinajca.

_Emma: Do you decorate every year, or often? Do you decorate every holiday or season, or is this your first time? angelinajca: This was my first Christmas to decorate, but I don’t really decorate very often.  Most of the things you see on this island have been here from the day I moved on it.  I have 6 lots on Angel Island, and the only thing I have changed is the house itself. I started with a very small house, then one with a thatched roof, and now this Spanish hacienda. _Emma: Can you describe the look or theme of your home? angelinajca: My friends actually were the first to see this house, in someone else’s PAZ. They knew right away I would love it, and knew they had to show me. So they took me on a boat ride where they could drop down on it and show me the Spanish hacienda. They were right, one look at it, and I knew I had gone home. I am a first generation American, my parents were from Ecuador, and this house reminded me of visits I had to my parents’ homeland. I had to have it, because it truly was me. _Emma: Do you have many lots and paz to decorate? angelinajca: I was part of a Yahoo! political chat group that all joined There together. Around 45 of us joined at about the same time.  After we joined, SailorGuy took us on a tour, and I saw this island.  I decided the next day to join, and dropped my first PAZ. A 2–acre PAZ with a house. Sailor helped by explaining what a PAZ was, showing me how to shop, etc. Not long after, I had a small home; I dropped a cool water ramp for boarding; I created a small playground for one of my friend’s granddaughters that played. I slowly added things around me to make it the home you see.  Everything I have placed here on the island is still here. _Emma:    What's your favorite decorative or designer item? angelinajca: I love this Spanish hacienda with the original Spanish flooring, and I love this village tapestry I found. It reminds me of home. Growing up, I remember my mom had tapestries over every wall in our house. And lastly I have to mention the Ecuadorean flag, made by cg1701, as a special request.
