| While checking out areas of Motu Motu for a race, Emma found Rockies Gran and her PAZ home, “Jim and Rockie’s Place,” tucked into the base of a hill. Arriving out on the bay, visitors can walk down a dock and see a multitude of colorful flowers and greenery, along with a carriage house, party boat, dog pen, barn, and gazebos. | ![]() |
| A peek into the barn
reveals a large collection of horses, including a little pink pony that
you can ride! The structure is made of weathered wood, stocked with the
horses and their feed, along with a water pump to cool them down after
a hard day’s ride. Walk among the butterflies and enter the house, where you will find a garage filled with odds and ends. A kitchen is around the corner, and further on is a lovely family room decorated in neutral browns. From the wall of books to the leopard-skin seating group, it is very striking. The walls of the staircase up to the living area are decorated with colorful works of art. White carpet and window treatments give the upstairs a more formal feel, although dark woods and a teal color in some of the fabrics add warmth to the room. Just off the formal living space is a bedroom, where someone's sweetie has left a dozen roses on the bed. Lucky gal! Emma really enjoyed her time here and highly recommends a visit. She also spoke with RockiesGran about this impressive area. |
| Emma:
'wow is all I can say, but how how long did it take to build this
complex, and when did you start? RockiesGran: Let me see, we have been in this spot for several months (April) but had a different house here. Just recently, in June, we purchased this house and had to set it up differently as it is much larger. It took about a week to do the entire community. This is a family community with many of our family members being a part of it. In real life, we come together inThere from 3 or 4 states across the US. Different parts of this community are owned by different avatars. We originally wanted a neighborhood but couldn't get one where we felt the attachment to the area that we have here. In this complex and family hood, you will find this house, campgrounds, the Mountain Cabin and the A-Frame houses. Be sure to tour all of them along with this one, as the Mountain Cabin has a working ranch, playground and gorgeous and realistic pond, along with many other attractions. Emma: How many lots/ drops are there? RockiesGran: This is really a tough question because we are so spread out. But basically in the main house area it goes like this: the boat, docks, trees and buggy garage building are in a 2-acre spread using about 130 drops or so, the main house and surrounding landscaping close to the house uses about 300-350 drops and sits in the center of another 2 acre spread. The landscaping away from the house, corral, pool, gazebo, pond, trees and pet pen all are in that one two-acre spread using 45 drops (I leave5 drops to pull out my spades table wherever I wish). The pool itself sits on a small PAZ underneath using 20 to 30 drops with its decorations. The gazebo is also on a very small PAZ using 10 or 20 drops. The campground in-between Jim & Rockies Place and Sue & Taley's Ranch has been set up on a 16th acre with 10 drops. Emma: Do you change the layout often? Or do you just redecorate the little things? RockiesGran: Basically, we just change the little things and fix things here and there. Emma: Which section/ room/ area is your favorite? RockiesGran: We love the entire complex and wanted it to be realistic, but I think the most challenging accomplishment was the addition of the room between the bedroom and living room upstairs in the house. That was one big room and wanted it to be two rooms that looked built in, with a private bedroom and bathroom. We didn't want to use screens and such so found walls, arches & floors (Jinx_TV Cream Walls, Arches, Floors with Japanese railings & stairs) instead. We built the dividing wall, bathroom and overhead loft with all that you see in there. Emma: What are a few of your favorite items you used here? RockiesGran: Goodness, another tough question because we love everything! The Kortt Black Cherry kitchen pieces (Easy Kitchen, Islands & Buffets) put together a great kitchen for this house and eliminated what could have been a very boring area. I love the teal family room and dining area, which is mainly the Cascade line mixed with the Beacon Manor line. The formal white living room is done with the Dolce line and the mauve bedroom is done with the elegant Divinity line. The family/game room is done with all Safari pieces, including leopard pieces. Most of the artwork is Abstract or Stained Glass. Click here to visit. To see photo album click here. |
